Dear Aimery Keith Lewis #8
Happy Pride!
June is Pride Month, but the end of June is when all the largest events are, at least for Pride Toronto. From Friday until Sunday, there is a street fair on Church, and on Sunday afternoon, there is an official parade. I think my favourite part of Pride is simply walking around and engaging with the community. Complimenting people on their gorgeous outfits, getting stickers from new friends, shopping at vendor booths, eating a ton of snacks, … Pride has so much to offer.
We skipped Friday’s festivities. I met up with my beloved childhood friend on Saturday morning, and after getting my belongings all situated, we went out to to park for some shopping at a local Pride event (gotta support the artists). We went back to drop off our finds, and then we were out on the town once again! We walked up and down Church Street, chatting with attendees, vendors, and each other. There was a lot of good music on display. Tons of stages line Church for the Pride event, and it’s a great time for dancing as well!
Sunday is the big day for Pride, in my opinion. We met up with a friend for breakfast, and I had the most delicious meal.
I got the Maple Pancakes with a side of Nutella and a side of french toast. The toppings and french toast were amazing, and the waffle was lacking in fluffiness, but was adequate. As always, I love to eat, so a few hours later we were at Soy Boys and I got a double burger with one chicken burger and one patty. The worker who made my burger said he had never seen such a unique order before. WIN!
It was delicious and hit the spot. Across the street was a donut shop, and of course, we stopped there as well. I didn’t get a picture of the donut, sadly, but I did get a picture of us posted up by a cafe while we watched the actual parade.
Toronto Pride 2025 was a wonderful time. Church Street was lively, the weather was lovely, and I am already looking forward to what Pride 2026 has in store!
Love you lots BuhBuh,
Dada
