Today is Father’s Day! I hope you had a wonderful day! I feel like most holidays are pretty fun to celebrate when growing up. You don’t really have to budget for gifts; you just shop for them sometimes. And someone else is always in charge of the schedule. I hope you got to eat lots of yummy food and spend quality time with family. That is what I always remember most about the holidays.

On my side of the family (your Jamaican great-grandfather’s side), there is a Father’s Day BBQ every year on the Saturday before the official Father’s Day. It is so much fun, and there are generally around 20 fathers in attendance (along with a plethora of other family and friends). The food is amazing! I always bring a strawberry cheesecake from Costco, and this year, your Uncle Ashton brought veggie sausages. There were fresh coconuts getting chopped up by your cousin Adrian by the tree in the front yard, the kiddies were playing in the heated indoor pool, and a food truck with West Indian food fed us dinner. I hope that you are able to attend one of these Father’s Day BBQ one day. Although we don’t need to wait for that to share a Costco cheesecake?!

It is also coming up on Nana’s (your grandmother) wedding! She is getting married on June 20th in Quebec. I will share more details next Sunday, God’s willing, and add some pics in as well. I wish you could be there to celebrate with us. I am sure that Nana would have loved picking out a little suit for you to wear, and it would have been really fun to BBQ together over the weekend and spend time with everyone. You shall be missed!

I suppose I am keeping these notes short and sweet for now. Love you so much Buhbuh (I think I am going to keep with this spelling even though it’s said more like BuhBah), and I hope you feel like you are living a beautiful life.
Love,
Dada
