Dear Aimery Keith Lewis #25
Back to the routine...
Hello Aimery! Hope you have had a wonderful week! Mine was pretty great, and I am back in Antigua now. I finished my second sailing course, which I had scheduled in Grenada. I am now officially a “Coastal Skipper”! It was a delightful and rewarding course. I hope that we get to sail to some of the places that I have had the opportunity to visit. They were beautiful, but it is always more fun experiencing beautiful places with those whom you love.
First, I’ll show you all the yummies that I got to eat on the trip! I ate way too much over the past few weeks. I am very glad to be back home and eating my soup every day. I feel better eating a vegan diet again, but it was nice to be eating yogurt, cheese, fish, and even chicken while out on the water. I am quite simple with my diet at home, but I don’t like being picky when others are preparing my meals.

We caught a HUGE wahoo as well! It was delicious to eat as sashimi (raw), and it was yummy cooked in steaks and fish pie as well. I definitely ate well on the trip!

I love raw fish, especially when I have had the opportunity to catch it myself. Tuna is still my favourite! It was wild, though, because just as the fish took the lure, a huge squal came in and we had to manage the sails while also managing the fish. We ended up bringing the fish on board and managing the sails well, though! The rain was coming down so hard that it was stinging my eyes, even though I had glasses on! By far the biggest storm I have sailed through, and we sailed through quite a few storms on this trip.
It wasn’t as much fun to have this beautiful young bird get caught in our fishing line. It took some work to get him reeled in and detangled, but after resting on the back of the boat for a bit, he flew away, apparently unscathed (apart from maybe some additional fear of boats!). I am very glad that the bird ended up being alright. I was very worried at first.

Here are some other fun pics from the trip. Some kids playing soccer on the beach on their day off, some puppies running around looking for food, and some pretty things I wanted to share along the way.

After a looooong trip back home, it has been nice to relax today and get back to my normal routine. I ran some errands in Jolly Harbour, I got my soup prepped and ready for the week ahead, and I am about to start stretching to try and loosen up my muscles from the 30 km I walked yesterday to get home! It was long, but it was a fun adventure.
I love you, Aimery Lewis, and I am so blessed to be living such a full life. I always feel like there is a large piece of myself missing by not being able to share my life with you, but I am glad to at least be able to share these letters with you. Everything I do is for you, and I pray that one day we get to have more pictures to share of things we are doing together.
Love, Dada.
