Dear Aimery Keith Lewis #24
We Sailed to France!
Well really, we sailed to Martinique, but technically it's a French island so that was pretty cool. I was really looking forward to trying out a bakery here, but out of the two that are near the marina, one is closed on weekends and the other is closed for renovations at the moment. That's okay, I guess it wasn't meant to be. Hopefully, on my next trip here, I'll get to try one. To get here, we sailed for 23 hours straight from Grenada. It was a fun sale, and my first time sailing for so long without stopping. It wasn't much different from stopping each night, and honestly stopping is quite a bit more enjoyable. I am doing my Coastal Skipper practical course though and learning how to run the boat for long periods of time is part of the course training.
I hope you've had a wonderful week, Aimery. I keep having so many new and wonderful experiences that I wish I could share with you in person. I'm sure you're having your own wonderful experiences though! One day, I'm sure we'll get to recount endless stories back and forth to each other. On my Day Skipper practical the other week, we caught a tuna and it was delicious cooked, but even better raw. On this trip up to Martinique, we ended up catching a mahi-mahi. We had some for dinner last night and it was delicious! Although, mahi-mahi has to be cooked so I didn't get to try it raw. Hopefully we will catch another tuna sometime this week so I can have some more fresh sashimi.
The beginning of this week was some time off between the two practical courses, so I was at the Airbnb, mostly relaxing. I think in the 4 days off I might have left the house once? But it was a nice break from all of the long days of sailing. Currently, we are in the middle of quite a large thunderstorm so we are staying at the marina for a couple nights and we will start sailing again tomorrow. I suppose I don't mind being at the marina. Sailing is quite a lot of fun, but the downtime at the marina is enjoyable as well. We are plugged in to shore power and we have Wi-Fi here so it's kind of like being on a little vacation. They are feeding me so well on this course! This is definitely the most. I've been in a very long time. I probably only eat this much when I'm back in Canada and Nana is feeding me!

It's been a fun trip so far, looking forward to the next few days. And now I'll share some random pictures of you π₯°.

I love you so much Aims π. Everything I do, every day I live, is all for you (and God ππΎπ).
Love,
Dada π π«
