Dear Aimery Keith Lewis #17
A sugar apple a day, keep a smile on Chloe's face!
Happy Sunday, Aimery! I hope you had a wonderful week. I guess since Monday is Labor Day, you probably have school starting next week? I hope you had a fabulous summer! I always remember summers being super fun growing up, lots of camps and trips to Antigua and Jamaica. I hope you had a plethora of memorable activities packed into the season. Now that I am out of school, summer is pretty much just like any other season. Although, some fruits only bear in the summer, so I have been eating a bunch of mangoes, guineps, soursop, and sugar apple this season. Your Nana LOVES sugar apple, but I never used to really enjoy it, same with soursop, but recently I have been going to pick them myself on my walks, and I have been really enjoying them. I have especially been enjoying the sugar apples! I have to pick them early, before the birds get them, so I have been getting quite a few of them from various trees in the area.
I had another wonderful week! It started off with my getting my hair re-tightened. I only took 6 hours this time, including the styling, so it is definitely getting quicker. I am looking forward to it taking 4 hours or less one of these days. As the sisterlocks get more mature, they don’t get as loose between appointments, and the re-tightening process is quicker. There were also some pretty flowers in my loctitian’s yard.

I actually saw quite a few pretty flowers this week. I have been trying to snap pics of more of them, but I don’t always remember. Here are some other pretties I saw this week that I did remember to snap though.

Speaking of flowers, some of my coworkers at the office were playing a game with some premature flowers this week. It was really cool to see the types of games children would play growing up here in Antigua.
I also saw a really cool baby jellyfish at work this week. It was just swimming by the dock around the boats. The way they swim is so interesting.
I didn’t get pictures of my sugar apples this week, but I will try and remember to take a picture of a sugar apple tree this week so you can see what happens when the birds get to the fruit before I do. They eat the fruit right out of the shell and leave the shell still hanging on the tree! I did get a picture of one of my guinep hauls. Also, we went to the bar as a going-away party for one of my friends leaving the island for a bit, and I brought a bunch of guineps, which were eaten as bar snacks, which I thought was really cute.

We had another going-away drink with the team on Friday after work at Sheer Rocks, and there was such a pretty sunset! Drinks there are quite expensive, so we only got one drink special for happy hour, but the views were well worth the trip out.

It wouldn’t be a weekly letter without showing off Oscar, who is doing well. I brought him some mangoes this week, as usual. He really enjoyed this one!
Another wonderful treat this week was a delicious strawberry cheesecake cookie from a friend at work, it was soooo good! The best cookie I have had all year! Makes me want to start baking more again.
After a wonderful week, we decided to meet up at Hermitage Beach again this Sunday for a team hike. Since my friend and I did the hike last week, it was a little easier this time. We also decided to swim after, which was really refreshing. Here are some pictures from the hike.

There was also this really cool water spout along the walk that I wanted to show you. I sadly didn’t catch the sound of the water rushing up the spout, but this is where it was, haha. Next time, I will try to get a better video. We found $20 in the water here thought! We used it to get drinks at the end of the hike, although we wanted watermelon (the stand was all sold out sadly).
And just some random pictures that I was nostalgic about this week <3

I had a wonderful week, as always, and I hope you did too Aimery. I love you so much and miss you all the time. Sunday afternoons are my favourite part of the week because I get to “talk” to you and share what’s going on in my life. I hope you enjoy reading these letters as much as I enjoy writing them.
Love you BuhBuh <3
