Dear Aimery Keith Lewis #14
Fall in love with yourself first.
Happy Sunday, Aims. I hope that you are having an enjoyable summer. It has been quite warm here in Antigua recently, with no complaints, but I do miss using a bed sheet to sleep at times. I am blessed to have two fans in my apartment, though, so I am generally quite comfortable when sleeping. Also, I can’t believe I've finally become a morning person! It took a few months, and living in Antigua, to finally get there, but I now wake up around 5:30 am! I love having more time in the morning to wake up slowly and enjoy the start of my day. It is a great time to pray, eat breakfast, have some tea, plan out my day mentally, and just enjoy a slow morning. It is one of the most important routines in my day.
So, along with my slow mornings, which are starting earlier and earlier in the day, I also started the week off with a slow week since it was Carnival Monday and Tuesday, and so also a holiday for both of those days. I did not head out to the festivities, but I did spend some time on Tuesday helping a friend do some sanding on her boat!
It was an enjoyable experience, but it was SO WARM in the cabin! I was dripping in sweat as I worked, but I was glad to be able to help out and learn something new,
The rest of the week was spent feeding the dogs I am taking care of for the next few months, and helping out at Second Star Sailing. The boats are coming out of the water and going on land soon, so we have been spending some time preparing the boats.
Speaking of boats, I got to sail on the sailboat “High Tide” again this weekend for the Saturday races at the Antigua Yacht Club. This week’s race was the Commodore Cup. I had a wonderful time and felt more comfortable in my role in the crew.
We did pretty well, in my opinion. The Skipper won a bottle of rum, and we are getting better each week. I think this was High Tide’s last weekend racing for a bit, though. It will be interesting to see which boat I am hopefully sailing on next week.
Another enjoyable week in the books, hopefully for us both. Love you lots, Aimery, and hope to give you a BIG HUG soon. I signed up for my RYA Yacht-Master Theory course this week as well, so hopefully I am able to complete that course shortly.
Chat next week!
